Congrtzz!!!! to the
knights,they finally lifted trophy.This year there has been a lot of hullabulla
about the T20 cricket competition.Yes ,you are right!!!! I am talking about the
5th edition of the Indian Premier League.Ipl has been in the news often
for many bad reasons and this year there was a series ofcontroversies.It all
started with the badshah of bollywood Shahrukh Khan for smoking during the
matches,continued by the face off that he had with the MCD officials at the
Wankhade Stadium that lead to a permenant band of the Bollywood superstar from
entering the stadium.And last but not the least is the involvement of Siddharth
Mallya’s “Future Wife” case,rave parties.The reason for mentioning all these
things is to answer one basic question is IPL losing its popularity, rather is
CRICKET losing its popularity in a nation where the game is enjoyed by people
from all the ages.Cricket has always been a cynosure of all the sports in India
and with the introduction of IPL it has only taken the enjoyment,enthusiaism of
the cricket lovers in India to the next level.According to a recent survey 48%
of the Indians lied at their workplace only to see the IPL matches of their
favourite teams,so one can imagine the kind of excitement.
Well, let us come to
the main point now wheather IPL is bringing shame to cricket.Well,in my opinion
the answer is NO! very simple reason, focus on the game not what the players
are doing,if you don’t like it then don’t see it .IPL format was introduced
mainly for today’s generation and that’s because of the reason that in todays
time people donot have the sufficient amount of time to see a 50 over match.People
are enjoying the T20 format game that’s enough what do you need more?
What the players do off
the field the people are less concerned about it except the media houses.And
you cant blame the authorities of IPL for the players misconduct because it all
depends upon the attitude of an individual how he is going to present himself ,
what type of image he wants to make of himself.We have never heard of any
scandal about the Master Blaster Sachin or Rahul Dravid or Saurav Ganguly.So on
an ending note I just wanna say that just enjoy the game friends because as the
tagline of the IPL goes-“Aisa mauka
kabhi na milega”.
